Shanty Creek
Shanty Creek is a popular all-season recreational resort and conference center in Michigan. Its visitors are increasingly turning to their website for current information on activities, weather, and special promotions. Having a user-friendly, up-to-date website is therefore critical to their business.
Shanty Creek found that updating their website was rather cumbersome and technically involved. They therefore asked DefinedLogic to come up with a more effective way to manage their web presence.
After analyzing Shanty Creek’s marketing and design requirements, staff resources, and frequency of content updates, we decided to redesign their website and build a custom lightweight content management system (CMS) that would allow non-technical staff to keep the site fresh. Key to our solution was the ability for editors to make changes directly from the front-end user interface of the website, yet preview any changes before they were pushed live.
We also made sure the site was search engine optimized, with the ability for an administrator to manually edit meta tags for each page.
