iPhone 4 Available in White Today, iPhone 5 Scheduled for September 2011 Release

Apple released the iPhone 4 in white today and it’s available for purchase at Apple retail stores, Apple’s online store, AT&T stores, Verizon stores, and “select” Apple Authorized Resellers.

I still have an iPhone 3Gs in white and just seeing this image of this new white iPhone 4 has me thinking “I WANT THIS!” Apple has a way of making you think you need things you really don’t. However, I am holding out for the iPhone 5 which is slated for a September 2011 release.

Although the rumor mill  has been speculating on the various iPhone 5 features the most common reports are that it will be a 4G Phone with a better camera, processor and a bigger screen. It could also be thinner and lighter and the antenna issues will be resolved

Another speculation is that with the pending merger of AT&T and T-Mobile USA, the iPhone 5 could be available on T-Mobile.

What do you want? The iPhone 4 in white or are you holding out for the iPhone 5?

To Tweet or Not To Tweet…

Admittedly, I’m secretly hoping to hear stories about how crazy their young children are so I don’t feel like a completely inadequate parent but it’s always nice to hear good news from friends and see pictures of their growing children. So I have personally seen and experienced the value of social networking via Facebook.

Some observations about Twitter

I have recently become an active Twitter user and would like to share some of my initial observations. Overall, Twitter seems to be a valuable resource if you are looking for another channel to get (or give) information. The value is increased if you need that information to be timely. Twitter’s flow of information is almost real-time in that you can expect to receive or send tweets as things are happening. The key to this new fast-paced information channel is who you follow and/or who follows you.

Following or being followed is your end goal for Twitter. But how does that work? If you are like me, you want a new source of valuable information for both business and my personal growth. So, I will talk from that perspective.

Google goes social… kind of

You can now “like”, I mean, “+1” your search results in Google. As of last week, you can sign up for the +1 button experiment in beta (Google Labs). It will most likely be a while before everyone will start seeing a +1 icon all over Google and the rest of the web but there is a good chance this is coming.
