A company that eats together stays together

In our office, I am known for my passion for food.  Whenever I go to a new place, I like to check out what the area has to offer in terms of food.  This became apparent to Alex soon after I started working at DefinedLogic.  He noticed that I would go to new places whenever I would buy food for lunch.  So one day while eating some food that I picked up from Port Chop BBQ, Alex challenged me to go to a brand new place every day for lunch.  That seemed rather expensive, so I cut it back to once a week.  And so the challenge was born.

Facebook Moves Beyond “Like”

Since the F8 Developers Conference there has been a lot of talk about the updates coming to Open Graph protocol. The next version of the Facebook Open Graph is currently in Beta, and one of the most talked about changes to the Open Graph is verbs (aka actions). Right now, Facebook users can only Like something, but with the new updates , there will be more actions they can do.

How it works:

Actions are verbs that represent an activity that a user can perform in an app.
Objects are nouns that represent an item to which the actions applies.

All the News That’s Fit to Print – Online?

New York Times Print vs. OnlineI’ve always assumed that the online versions of magazines and newspapers are just the print versions presented online. I was recently surprised to discover that isn’t usually true. It turns out that publishers are making unique products for online readers. But why?

As I recently compared the print and online versions of the New York Times, I came to realize that technology had not just provided its publishers with a new distribution channel for its existing product, but it had provided them with an opportunity to sell new products to new customers.

These new products, the online versions of the newspaper, differ from the existing product, the printed newspaper that is delivered to your door, in some significant ways.
