Give Pink A Chance

When it comes to breast cancer awareness, it’s never inappropriate to talk to strangers.

You’re born with only one body. So it makes sense to take care of your parts. More specifically, the month of May asks you to pay attention to your breasts.

Enter Paint the Town Pink, a nationally-recognized, community-wide effort encouraging everyone — female, male, young, old — to spread the word about the importance of annual mammography. Not only does Paint the Town Pink endorse breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment, it also raises funding to provide screenings for uninsured and underserved local women.

Since 2013, DefinedLogic — a frequent contributor to the Red Bank community — has joined in the Pink conversation. Each year we have gathered for a company photo to show our support and reinforce the importance of the “schedule a screening now” message.

Naturally, the suggested dress code for the photo included donning anything pink.

This year we wanted to do something extra — something memorable, yet motivating. The 1969 John Lennon and Yoko Ono anthem, Give Peace A Chance, provided the perfect inspiration for a DefinedLogic Give Pink A Chance video. Our goal was to lend a fresh perspective to a serious subject matter and put our distinct DefinedLogic spin on it.

We enlisted the power of social media and rallied around the idea that taking care of your health is the best gift you can give to the people you love. Early detection has become our best defense against this non-discriminating disease. It is our hope that Give Pink A Chance raises breast cancer awareness and prompts a mammography “call to action” result.
